How much caffeine is in Alani Nu? That makes a regular can about two 8 oz cups of brewed coffee in a smaller can than most energy drinks.

Every regular Alani Nu Energy flavor we checked lists 200 mg of caffeine per 12 fl oz (355 ml) can. The label text on Alani Nu's product pages reads "200mg of caffeine per 12 fl oz serving." We checked in November 2026.

Witch's Brew has 200 mg of caffeine per 12 oz can, the same as the regular Alani Nu lineup. Alani Nu describes it as a limited-edition green apple and caramel flavor that's back for the season. A seasonal flavor doesn't mean a lighter dose.

How much Alani Nu caffeine is left at bedtime?

A regular Alani Nu at 2 PM still leaves about 57 mg in you at 11 PM. The table uses the calculator's math: remaining caffeine = dose x 0.5^(hours / 5), for an 11 PM bedtime.

Can at Mini (100 mg) Regular or Witch's Brew (200 mg)
8 AM 13 mg 25 mg
10 AM 16 mg 33 mg
Noon 22 mg 44 mg
2 PM 29 mg 57 mg
4 PM 38 mg 76 mg
6 PM 50 mg 100 mg

This site uses about 25 mg at bedtime as a sensible ceiling. It isn't an official limit, just a useful line. A regular can at 6 PM leaves about as much caffeine at bedtime as a full cup of coffee.

What's the latest time to drink an Alani Nu?

For an 11 PM bedtime, finish a regular 12 oz Alani Nu by about 8:00 AM and a mini by about 1:00 PM. These are the times each can falls below 25 mg by bed:

Bedtime Mini (100 mg) Regular or Witch's Brew (200 mg)
10:00 PM 12:00 PM 7:00 AM
10:30 PM 12:30 PM 7:30 AM
11:00 PM 1:00 PM 8:00 AM
Midnight 2:00 PM 9:00 AM

That's 10 hours before bed for a mini and 15 hours for a regular can. These are averages, and some people clear caffeine much more slowly. In an at-home sleep study, a large caffeine dose taken 6 hours before bed cut total sleep by more than an hour. For the bigger picture, see energy drinks and sleep.

How many Alani Nu drinks a day is safe?

For healthy adults, the FDA cites 400 mg of caffeine a day as an amount not generally linked to negative effects, which is two regular Alani Nu cans and nothing else. Alani Nu's own label says the same: daily caffeine should be limited to about 400 mg from all sources.

The label also says Alani Nu is not recommended for children, people sensitive to caffeine, or women who are pregnant or nursing. The FDA notes that medical experts advise against energy drinks for children and teens. For a full daily tally, see how much caffeine is too much.
